Style has always been a prominent thing. It’s something you can always count on changing. People change and so will their look. Upcoming senior, Ava Rotman, sees personal style as the most important form of self-expression.
In elementary school, Rotman began to felt the pressure because her mother taught at her school. They felt like everything they did could either affect her mom negatively or positively, which could make or break her mom’s or the school’s reputation. This led her to not express herself with her hair or clothes as much as she wanted to.

Lilian Wible dives into her past and future for her passions regarding her grunge music interests

Music is a universal language that has connected people from very different paths althroughout time. For rising junior, Lilian Wible growing up her father and grandfather influenced her music taste and her passions for it. From a very young age she’d listen to bands such as the Beatles with her grandfather, and she remembers always making fun of her father’s music taste while secretly loving it.

In the midst of flashing lights, 17-year-old Zoey Duchene shines brightest. Whether it’s through theater, film making, French club, art club, or photography, Duchene has an obvious passion and talent when it comes to the arts. “There’s a bunch of small things that shape who I am,” Duchene said. She has found many ways to incorporate her interests into her everyday life. Yet in the midst of such talent, Duchene’s photography takes the cake.

Jahnavi Avula, upcoming Junior, Embraces Heritage through Indian Classical Dance

Jahnavi’s passion for Indian classical dance blossomed at the age of seven. However, her family’s decision to move to the United States when she was nine brought an unexpected pause to her dancing journey. Despite the excitement of starting anew, Jahnavi couldn’t help but feel a sense of melancholy without her beloved art form.
“I used to reminisce, when I saw pictures of myself dancing,” she said.
Yearning to reconnect with her cultural heritage, Jahnavi found solace and inspiration in classical Indian dance once again. After four years in the United States, she was able to resume her practice, thanks to finding a new teacher who reignited her passion.
