Junior Eleanor Guipe finds her passion for creating an inclusive community
As cheering voices echo through the water, Eleanor Guipe feels confident that among those voices is her father’s. For all 11 years that Guipe has been swimming, her dad has always been by her side. This connection has not only helped her achieve her swimming dreams but has also given her new passions and aspirations. Guipe’s father’s experience as a special education teacher at her school opened her eyes to the discrimination and shame that surrounds the disabled community. She specifically observed this in her school environment.

One year ago, Dylan Miner started Wrestling. Miner had previously played baseball for six years and cross country for 1 year. This past year Miner decided to start a new chapter and adventure in his life. Miner started to wrestle.
“Other sports were similar to wrestling so it wasn’t a huge jump to join wrestling,” Miner said. Miner has quickly picked up wrestling, he even has attended several academy’s and programs called Regional Training Centers or (RTC) for short. “The academy I attend is called Contenders Wrestling Academy in Greenwood. Expression Through Music
From her auburn hair, green pearlescent nails, classic band T-shirt, everything about Bella Rolsen is intriguing.
Concert enthusiast, Rolsen, rising senior at Zionsville High School, finds music to be a way to express herself. In school Rolsen is known for her curly hair, unique nails, and assorted music taste.
She has been to a total of five concerts this summer and will be attending seven more this year. In her lifetime she has been to upwards of ten concerts and hopes to enjoy seeing many more of her favorite artists and bands live.
“Seeing shows live is a totally different experience then listening at home” Rolsen said.
Rolsen’s favorite concert she has attended recently is The Killers last September, and Paramore in June.

Senior Gracyn Erickson from Carmel High School, has been working towards “making herself proud” through softball for as long as she can remember. She has been using the skills that she has learned through the sport to not only better herself as a player but also as a person.
“When I get up to bat I get really nervous and shaky, so at my very first time up to bat playing varsity I was very anxious. My very first hit in my varsity career was off the fence. It was just so exciting and it made me very proud of myself and everything that I have been working towards.”

Embracing family, from Indiana to India
Although Suprita Vavilala is technically considered “Evansville, Indiana Made”, she has spent a large portion of her life traveling to and from India, where she is able to reconnect with her family every summer. Since she was born, Suprita, along with her sister and parents, has taken the twenty-hour flight to both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh where she spends over a month with both sets of her grandparents as well as her cousins, aunts, and uncles. The time Suprita gets to spend with her family is precious and she makes sure to not take it for granted.

Extrovert Express guided by Ambition
Ava Rosenberg, a rising senior attending Evanston Township High School, opens up about herself and certain traits that she believes makes up her personality. Through my enjoyable conversation with Ava, I learned quite a bit about her.
Evanston Township High School, Ava’s high school, is only 10 minutes away from NorthWestern University. Although this University has a good reputation and is overall a satisfactory college, Ava conveys her dislike in attending any school in Illinois for her undergraduate. Rosenberg excitedly said, “I feel like the point of college is to leave and go out into the world along with experiencing new things. A Sports Interest
From golf to football junior Caden Kerr has always enjoyed sports whether he was just a spectator or a participant.
As for right Kerr is currently on his school’s golf team. “I go to Warren and I am number 3 on our varsity team,” Kerr said.
As for his best game golf Kerr ended up scoring 102. “My best score so far is 102 at the Mic Tournament,” Kerr said.
Besides playing golf Kerr also enjoys football and baseball. “I’m really big into sports. My favorite sport is football followed by baseball,” Kerr said.
Like all sports fans Kerr has his favorite teams which include the Indianapolis Colts for football and the St. Louis Cardinals for baseball. “My favorite teams are the Colts and St. Louis Cardinals,” Kerr said.

Being shy is a hard obstacle to overcome in this society, but junior Haymaj Townsend always knows how to overcome it when it comes to sticking up for the right thing.
Townsend often takes care of her younger brother in her free time.
“There’s not much I like to do in my free time. I feel like I’m very shy and don’t like to socialize that much. What I do the most, though, is watch my little brother. He used to be such a good kid, but his attitude has changed so much and now he’s bad, which makes my job a lot harder. Great Person, Great Things
Being someone people can depend on in tough situations is not an easy task for the weak.
Senior Maya Nakar has always seemed to be a natural-born leader and has never let anyone stop that and put out her flame.
“I have always been the friend that has been looking after each other and sometimes it comes off as bossy to the point where my old coach had to bench me for it,” Nakar said.
Although Maya has good relationships with her friends she has not had the best track record with dates.
“I once went on a date with a guy and he threw up and still complained that he had to pay, I gave him a second chance and he did it again,” Nakar states.

A Good Person
Valeria Moreno will be volunteering in a mental health group later this year which she is very excited to be able to help out her community and anyway possible. Another group she is volunteering at is called best buddies where she will be specializing in helping special needs children. She is currently in a service group where she helps around the community. Mr.Moreno said.
“I just like being nice, and I like going around and spreading kindness”.
Another thing Ms.Moreno is passionate about is baking. And she sees herself in the future becoming a nutritionist and the reasoning behind this is so she can help people eat healthy and get to know all the differences of how certain food can make you feel.
