Asking questions to strangers is hard, especially in the rain

For something so conceptually simple, the Person on the Street story was far from easy for me. In fact, I think it was the hardest assignment in the entire class. To preface this, I’m a perfectly outgoing person when it comes to social interactions with people I know. That even extends to people in classes or in other social settings where I neither explicitly know them or don’t.

But for complete strangers, it’s different.

Maria Sievers Perotti, a Bloomington resident who grew up in Vincennes, said it’s endlessly better than her birthplace, a town of roughly 17,000 with next to no exciting local eats.

Christopher Forrester
Chris Forrester is a sophomore studying journalism, with a minor in studio art through the School of Art, Architecture & Design. Chris is also a reporter for the Indiana Daily Student, where he writes arts features and hosts a weekly film podcast, and IU’s Media School, which runs an online news publication covering school events, students and alumni. He teaches figure skating lessons with the Bloomington Figure Skating Club and skates for himself with the IU Figure Skating Club. Chris is a lover of food, art and the outdoors, and a believer in the importance of stories.
