I think the only think I am struggling with thus far is the amount of people who stare at me when I am out with Amanda, and the amount of people trying to photo bomb every photo I took. It created a lot of frustration and honestly some anger the amount of frat boys trying to get in the picture, and trying to get a photo in.
I really wanted to follow Amanda around to more sensitive areas, such as the bathroom, since I have a quote from her stating that she isn’t allowed to go to the bathroom alone anymore because every time she does, she passes out on the toilet.
Amanda and her friends, however, have been incredibly willing to let me follow them around everywhere they go. They have invited me out multiple nights and allowed me into their homes and apartments, sometimes without even knowing me ahead of time. I think that a lot of the worries I had ahead of time are not standing true, but now I have a challenge I wasn’t even thinking about, but now is a major issue; drunk people.
Toward the end of the shoot, I started feeling more comfortable with shooting out in a private-public space, but I still feel the need to sneak my camera in. I feel like people have such an issue with these large digital cameras, so I am wondering if I should start brining my personal camera that is much smaller and tends to be mistaken for a film camera (something no one ever seems to have a problem with).
