Photo Story – Take 4

The outside of the building of The Boys and Girls Club, where Hope Robinson volunteers.

During take 4 of the Photo Story project I was able to take pictures of the outside of the actual Boys and Girls Club itself. My subject was supposed to be able to come with me but she actually ended up being sick. This was a major set-back for me and huge obstacle. However, I managed to make it work still because I had already shot her enough in her personal element and I just needed some pictures of the Boys and Girls Club itself to give some visual on the place she volunteers at each day, showing that there is more to the story than just her personal life and how her work effects her when she gets home and outside of the club, although this is the main focus. I think it is important to showcase where this all takes place, even if I was not allowed to go inside and take pictures it still gives my audience some context and brings my story to life, in my opinion. I practiced taking scene setting pictures and wide shots while here and although it was a gloomy day I was pleased with how it all turned out in the end.
