Reading Response: Freeman CH 6

The chapter really focused on composition of photos and what a photographer does to capture the right composition. Sometimes it takes awhile for the photographer to get a shot, and other times they have to have quick reflexes to capture a shot that has such a short time frame. The text goes over four different areas of preparation: camera handling, observation, familiarity with compositional techniques, and state of mind.

My collection of photos above occurred after taking some group shots and then quickly turning and following this young boy as he breaks away from the group. Similar to how the shot of Girl With Brooms happened, I had to have a quick reaction to the subjects of my photo and the ability to predict the moves of the boy with the flag. After observing the people in my group shots through my lens, I saw the boy preparing his flag and turned to him as he took off running through the grass.
