A big takeaway I had from this chapter was the sections on reactive photos and delayed photos. In the reactive and planned section I took a lot of inspiration from the Make-up for dancing photo on page 134. I really liked the idea of a half-planned but not planned reactive photo. Like in the photo, the event and attendance at the event was planned, but this photo in this exact moment was not. I also liked the reactive side of it, where you can see someone’s reaction to a certain event. This is where the delay section of the chapter comes in. I was really inspired by the photo of the little boy taking some fish. In this photo you can see a little boy sneaking some fish from a basket while the vendor talks to someone. We can only assume what the reaction to this event was because of how they chose to shoot this to show everyone’s reaction before they noticed. I showed this in my photos in two ways. One was including both the before photo and the after. This was a photo that I had already taken earlier during telephoto workshop and I thought this demonstrated reactions and delay perfectly. In the first photo we see the girl looking at her phone normally. And in the second photo we see the same girl doing the same action but with a different reaction on her face. Separately these photos are not very interesting. But together they tell a story. I would say overall I think I had a good representation of this chapter and got a lot out of it.
