TheĀ  workshop demonstrated how to utilize the strobe light to capture different lighting situations, one of them being Rembrandt light. To get this type of light, the light source has to be above the subject and to the side.

My photo demonstrates the Rembrandt light, signified by the slight triangle of light on Erin’s left cheek under her eye. At first I had trouble with the lighting because I found it too harsh, but I was able to move the strobe away from the subject to soften theĀ  light. I also had her pose in front of the plain light colored wall so that there was more contrast between her shirt and the background.
