This workshop was definitely very different from other workshops that we have done so far. It was difficult at first, but throughout the process of shooting, I learned from Professor Comfort that I needed to look at the paper ball from different perspectives using layers and other settings on the camera. As you can see in my photos, I tried to get different pictures of the paper ball from far away, but incorporated close up shots as well. The boredom went away quickly when I learned to use different angles and different lighting.
I feel like in photography, we spend so much time trying to get the right picture of the thing in front of you, but you only view it a couple different ways. In this assignment, when we are told to get 50 different compositions, it makes you think a little bit harder about what else you can brainstorm or what other angle you can try it from. This workshop will make me think more for my next workshops about what I can do better, and other ways that I can be creative. The paper ball may be boring, but Franklin Hall and Sample Gates absorb color and bright light to the picture.
