For this workshop I honestly found it really hard to work with the telephoto lenses. I had never had that experience before so I was a learning curve as to how to hold it, how to adjust the focus properly to best utilize the long lenses benefits. The hardest thing I had to experiment with was the distance from me to my subjects. A lot of times I overcompensated for the long lenses and would stand far away and I found myself having a hard time getting a really in depth close up. When I was working my scenes I would move away and be too far aware for an extreme close-up and then I would move more forward and be too close to my subject or the focus would just be in blur. When we finished the workshop I did not think I had any good shots because I was having difficulty gaging the perception and distance that the camera was capturing however I think once I started looking at the photos I took on my computer I saw the effects of the lenses and the power it can have in a composition. I think it is daunting for me to use this kind of lenses for this project but I am also excited to experiment and mess around with it more.
