Doing this workshop was interesting. It felt strange being so far away from my subjects, yet it worked out since I had the telephoto lens. It was harder to capture a moving target, so people walking to and from classes or from wherever they were. Since the lens was so zoomed in and the subject was so far, a small movement to the side would bring the focus multiple feet from my target. So it was much easier to find a subject that was sitting or walking very slow, more like strolling. Once I found a subject that was in one place for longer than a minute, it was easier to get different angles and move around. I did this for a couple different subjects, but my files got corrupted and I lost half my photos.
I found that I would get too close to the subject I was photographing, but then I would back up some and find out I needed to back up even more. Figuring out how far I had to be was the most difficult part, but it was a quick fix. I think I would get more comfortable and know the distances once I use the telephotos more.
