I would say overall this was a fairly simple assignment but I still learned plenty from it. At first I was over thinking it and trying to get a very specific set up, but then I realized these compositions could be used almost anywhere and there wasn’t just one specific way to do it. I think there is obviously things I could improve on though. For example, I forgot to use any compositional direction really in either of them and ended up placing Ethan right in the middle of the frame. I then had to go back and crop them to be a more interesting composition later on . Also I don’t really love the lighting in the close up so I really should have played around with that a bit more or even tried a new location. I can’t really decide how I feel about the lighting in the second one because his face is well lit and so is that rest of the scene, but there is this kind of glow behind him and I’m not sure how I feel about that. Overall though I still feel like I learned quite a bit from this assignment.
