Workshop 1

For this workshop, I tried to play around with the window light to give my portraits two different feels. The first was composed in front of a plain wall and Jackie was standing a decent distance from the window, which softened the amount of light falling onto her face and illuminated the background more. I was aiming for a cleaner, more joyful image and I think that really shows in contrast with my second portrait. For this one, I had Jackie stand closer to the window, which made her face brighter than the background, to add depth to the composition. I also included some of the window on purpose to add more intrigue to the background, which I feel added more character to the portrait compared to a solid colored background.
This workshop was fun for me because natural light is all around us bandits very interesting to see how we, as photographers, can use it and manipulate it by where we have our subjects stand, how we pose them, etc.
