In this class, we have learned about layering and focusing. Before going out with our cameras we changed some settings. Every time I take a look at the settings I am surprised by all the different options a camera gives you and how different functions it has.
The assignment consisted of taking two photos- one front-focused and one back-focused. In order to make the difference clear, I took both of them in the same context.
My front-focused photo is focused on the newspaper, while Ashley is behind reading. In this photo, it is clear that the protagonist is the lead, not the person. Also, I like the bright background. My back-focused photo is centred on Ashley. It is clear that she is reading a newspaper but now, the importance is for her and what she is doing.
I have also enjoyed this assignment because usually I work outside and I have enjoyed working with a different light. What I don’t like is that the photos look a little bit gritty but I don’t know why.
