Indiana University has been ranked as one of the best colleges for student voting and continues to join in efforts like the Big Ten Voting challenge to encourage students to vote. This challenge puts all universities in a competition Big Ten to see who can have the most students register to vote and greatest improvement in voter turnout.
While IU may be ranked as one of the best, Paul Helmke said there is room for improvement considering young people only rate at the 25th percentile.
However, sophomore Ashleigh Yarnik– a law and public policy major– believes IU does do a good effort of educating students on their civic duties and provides valuable resources to students.
The state of Indiana provides an online service for residents to easily find their polling place. Many locations are around Bloomington and even on IU’s campus.
