Love is patient

Rachel Russell and Brennan Angle have been planning their picture perfect wedding for nearly a year.  They have the wedding, the dress, and the venue.  What they are not able to have is a ceremony on the day they had planned.  That day was March 28.  Now, a little over six weeks after their anticipated date, Russell and Angle are preparing to have their wedding ceremony on May 9th.

Restrictions put in place due to Coronavirus prevented this couple from having the wedding they expected.  The week of their wedding, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb issued a stay at home order.  This stay at home order made the wedding on its original date illegal, forcing them to reschedule.  Nonetheless, the two are finding the silver lining behind it all.  Russell says, “It’s just a day, in all reality.  So we’re trying to focus on that.”

Now she says they will have two special days to look back on.  Russell continues, “This has been part of our story and now I look back on March 28, the day it was supposed to be, with such sweet memories because we went to our venue, we walked around, we swung on the swing outside, we baked our own wedding cake, we fed it to each other.  So doing all of those moments makes it so much more special.”

The couple has been quarantining together, making the most of their unique situation.   Russell says this period of waiting has made the meaning behind their wedding all the more special.  She says, “Why we’re getting married is to be together and in this time we are still together.  Even if we’re not married yet.”

Their special day, though a little later and with fewer guests than expected, will continue as originally rescheduled on May 9.
