Spring time bringing warm weather and headaches for drivers

Indiana is notorious for potholes. Driving around Indianapolis is always a headache over winter time and in Bloomington it’s not much better. With Indiana’s weather so unpredictable in the winter and into the spring time, people like Sam Robertson, Director of Facility Operations at IU, have a hard time keeping up with all of the potholes forming around campus.

Indiana University is not responsible for as many roads as many people might think. For example, both 10th street and 3rd street go through campus, but are the City’s responsibility. The city of Bloomington also takes care of Jordan Avenue which cuts through the heart of campus. Where IU steps in is on “Frat Row” where the majority of the potholes are.

Logan Green is a junior at IU studying Sports Management. He likes to keep an active lifestyle by working out almost every day at the SRSC and has to take Jordan Avenue to get there. During the winter, he says he has to constantly keep an eye out for new potholes so he doesn’t damage his car. He’s had problems in the past with potholes and constantly is eerie about new ones popping up.
