Valentine’s Day is intended to be a day to celebrate love and togetherness, but in Delphi, IN, the holiday is dismal anniversary of the tragedy that rattled this small Indiana city. Two years ago, two teenagers were murdered on the Delphi Historic Trails. Over 38,000 tips have been explored, but police are still looking for their killer. The reward currently stands at more than $240,000. The bodies of 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German were discovered down a hill from a trail near Monon High Bridge, where they were last seen hiking.
Discovered on Libby’s phone at the scene was the best evidence that currently exists of the suspected murderer; an image of an unidentified man and the sound of his voice. Police believe that the recording of his voice says, “Down the hill.”
Officers from Delphi and Indiana State police departments, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI and Carroll County Prosecutor Nick McLeland gathered on Wednesday in a press conference to give the public an update on the investigation. They stressed that this case is not cold, and that they are confident the killer will be found.
During the press conference, information on what constitutes a good tip was presented. Suspect name, age, physical description, address, vehicle information, reason for the tip, motivation for crime, and connection to Delphi, IN, are all aspects that should be included in a tip. Officials urge the public to come forward with any information regarding the case.
