Since I’ve been here in Hollywood, I’ve been learning more about the media industry through my internship with The Passionistas Project.

The mission of the company, which was founded by two sisters, is to support women and their passions. I love working for this company because of what it stands for and what I get to do.

The company has a podcast where they interview local businesswomen and give advice to women who want to follow their passions but need a little motivation in the right direction. I edit the podcasts and work with Adobe Audition and Premiere, expanding my knowledge of these programs.

I recently worked on a video interview with the oldest living Rose Queen in Pasadena, California. I helped set up lights and cameras for the shoot.

I also help assemble the subscription box the company just started, which features products from the women in the podcasts. Putting them together is so much fun because I get to chat with my bosses and ask them for advice.

I love that I am learning important life lessons as well as important information behind the scenes. The work I do here is rewarding because I know that I will be using it in my future. Plus, this company treats me well since its whole business is about supporting women. I feel like I am right where I need to be in order to grow.

This experience has taught me the importance of making sure the work is relevant to me when searching for internships. It is rewarding to look back at everything I’ve done and see that it relates to my major. I can’t wait to finish my college career knowing what I’ve learned.
