Inside the Warner Bros. studio

During my time in Los Angeles, I was fortunate enough to visit the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank and set foot on some iconic filming sets, including those used in “Batman Begins” (2005), “La La Land” (2016) and “Spider-Man” (2002).

As we drove up to enter the studio lot, I couldn’t help but be amazed at the Warner Bros. water tower. It sounds silly, but it is the most iconic aspect of the studio, especially since Warner Bros. recently rebranded. It symbolizes years of films, creativity and innovation throughout the entertainment industry. Seeing it in person was an extremely surreal moment for me.

My tour was guided by an IU alum, which provided a networking opportunity. The most exciting moments of this visit for me were sitting on the “Friends” couch in front of the fountain and walking through the “Harry Potter” films exhibit, which was filled with props, costumes, characters and more.

My dream is to work on the Warner Bros. lot one day. I’m thankful that I met some alumni who proved that dreams can become reality.

My advice for any future students who participate in the Semester in Los Angeles program is to connect with alumni out in the area. Make time to reach out through an email or set aside time to chat, because you never know who is looking out for you or can give you a glimpse into your dreams.
