The festival life
Junior Diem Dang gains a professional opportunity be attending the Beyond Wonderland music festival.
After I started my first internship, my life in Los Angeles became very busy. I barely had any leisure time for myself outside of my classes and my internship, even during the weekends. However, I still managed to make a little time to explore the city with my friends.
My friend surprised me with a trip to Samskara. Located in downtown L.A., it featured art pieces that can be viewed through our phones with an app and VR glasses. You can lie down under a huge round ceiling that basically covers your entire vision area and feel like you are in the video world being presented on the ceiling. There were also different themes in different golf-ball-looking buildings. The last and biggest attraction is live piano music. While you listen to the piano both through your headphones and on the site, you get to enjoy the beautiful magic world above you as you are lying down.
Yamashiro is representative of all the interesting restaurants I explored in L.A. It has an amazing view and service, but the food was very average based on their prices. My friend from Boston and I really enjoyed the beautiful L.A. sunset that we got to see when we were in the mountains.
My favorite activity in L.A. at night is to go for a drive in the mountains with my friend. Driving in the mountains at night can really test your car and your driving skills. Typically, you will need special tires to increase the friction. Sometimes we go with a group of people who are in the same car clubs. Even though it can be a little scary to drive at night, and there are many rocks on the roads that fell down from the top, the view at the top of the mountain is very rewarding.
L.A. is my favorite city in California. It has everything you could ask for. It has beaches and mountains. Different cultures blended all together in this sunshine city. If you are interested in the city life and the entertainment industry, living in L.A. is a must during college.
