Mantras, manifesting and a semester in L.A.

The story you are about to read serves as a true testament to manifesting your wildest dreams. So to all the skeptics out there, this one’s for you.

I don’t chase fame, I attract fame. What belongs to me will simply find me.

Any time I feel the elevated emotions of gratitude, joy, inspiration, love or bliss, I quote this mantra in hopes of pursuing my dreams of fame. As my thoughts, words, actions and emotions intertwine, my soul ascends to a higher frequency that allows me to manifest my dreams into reality.

I’m sure you’ve heard all of this spiritual jargon before from the crystal-loving believers on your TikTok “For You” page, but there’s actually a science behind it. Believe it or not, true manifestation utilizes quantum theory. I know, I sound crazy, but so do the esteemed scientists and educators whose decades of work and research have been published many times over.

One of these renowned educators is Joe Dispenza, an international lecturer, New York Times best-selling author and researcher. Dispenza leads workshops all over the world teaching people how to use meditation to relieve stress, physical pain and anger; many of his students have been cured of chronic pain and illnesses through altering their mindsets. In his book, “Becoming Supernatural,” Dispenza describes the quantum field as an invisible field of energy and information in which all possibilities exist that governs all the laws of nature. Entering this field of energy and disconnecting from our three-dimensional reality, one can manifest whatever they want to be or have by pairing set intentions with elevated emotions. This is just a quick summary, as the science behind manifestation and quantum theory is obviously much more complicated than this simple synopsis.

In case you’re still skeptical, let me tell you about my personal experience. Manifesting your dreams isn’t as simple as repeating mantras — believing in your core that your dreams will manifest and acting as if they already have is key in manifestation. Growing up in Indiana, I’ve never felt that I fit in, so when I got accepted into IU’s Semester in Los Angeles program, I knew it was my ticket out.

You may think it’s silly, but since the second I moved out here I have acted as if all of my dreams of fame had already come true. My first night out in Hollywood, I attended a VIP party in The Hills, was photographed by paparazzi and met the hosting artist Kalan.FrFr and Nicky Hilton. The following week, I attended a get-together on Mulholland Drive with Lil Xan, during which we became fast friends. I have also attended parties with Roddy Ricch, Travis Scott, Rich the Kid, Klay Thompson, Trey Songz, James Charles and Tana Mongeau. By far my favorite celebrity I have met is Jamie Foxx, who was so kind and generous and even told me he loved me after five seconds of meeting me, so obviously he has to be my favorite.

Funny enough, the question I get asked most is, “You’re famous, right?” when I am simply just a girl from the Midwest. Of course these celebrity meetings aren’t an everyday occurrence — as I have mainly spent my time being a good student and juggling two internships and our assigned media classes — but the fact that I have met this many celebrities in my very short four months here was previously inconceivable. It’s true though, and I can genuinely say with pride that I did it.

Now that I’ve told you my secret recipe for manifesting your dreams, I encourage you to get out there and live a little, appreciate all the big and little things life has to offer, and most importantly, believe in yourself! Manifest your destiny.
