AppCenter Elite: Quick Reference
You have four channels for recording and playback: Red, Blue, Gold, and Purple.
Before recording we want to ensure we are in the proper bin, navigate to the bin for your class and project. Click on the file path next to Look In: at the top of the Clips Section. If your bin is already available, it will be visible in the dropdown options. If you need to create a bin, click on Organize Bins, and you will be able to add a bin. Be sure that you add the project bin as a subfolder to your class bin/folder.
Recording
We use Purple for recording programs, when you click on Purple a blue outline will appear around it.
If there is a playback clip in that channel, click the Eject Clip button to remove it. You will notice that the green Status circle changes to red, and the thumbnail in the Monitor Section is empty except for audio meters.
With that channel selected, go to the menu bar and find Control, and then New Clip. A new clip (without footage) will appear in the clips section.
You will now have the option to name your clip. Click on the Clip Name in the channel to rename it. Ask your Instructor or AI on what to name the clip.
Press the Record button in the transport controls for that channel to begin recording. To stop recording, press the Stop button in the transport controls.
Your clip will now appear in the Clips Section to the right. In order to record a new clip in the same channel, go to Control, and then New Clip.
Playback
Choose which Channel to use for playback (Red, Blue, Gold). That channel should now have a light blue outline.
To load a clip from your Clips Section, do one of the following: Drag and Drop the clip from the Clips Section to the desired channel. Double-click on the clip in the Clips Section. Click Load in the Clips Section and select the clip to load. Click Load in the channel and select the clip to load.
The thumbnail in the Monitor Section now displays an image of the clip. If you were previously recording in that channel, the red Status circle will now be green.
To loop the clip, click on the green Status circle. Loop playback will be an option in the drop-down menu that appears. The green circle will now have a loop signal in
the center of it.
You can use the transport controls to play and skim the clip.
Exporting Media
Navigate to the bin for your class and project, highlight the clip(s) you want to export.
In the center column there is an option called Send to, click this and you will see a pop-up screen with a few options
Choose File on the left side and find your external drive
Choose the type of file you want from the drop down list including .mxf and .mov then click Send
We recommend you only do a few videos at a time in order for the system to complete your export in a reasonable time
You can check how your export is going by clicking System in the menu bar, then Transfer Monitor.
