Interviewing offers insight, marketing for nonprofit

I was very excited to hear that I had been hired as a marketing intern at 4-22 Foundation.

4-22 Foundation is a nonprofit that supports disadvantaged young people from the ages of 4 to 22. It offers a social mobility program to create long-term integrated support so clients can pursue their goals. My role at 4-22 Foundation was to help get its message out.

I was assigned a storytelling project in which I interviewed the staff at 4-22 Foundation over Zoom and shared the content on social media. The purpose was to share how each individual contributes to the organization and showcase their passion for supporting young people.

First, I had to contact everybody by email to see if they were available. Keeping the time zone in mind, I had to keep track of each meeting and confirm whether people could still meet. Then I wrote questions. I had to work a while on this since the questions I asked each person were almost always different. I made various sets of questions based on the different roles in the company. There are directors, tutors, advisors, assistants, counselors, mentors and more.

It was an insightful experience as I got to meet each team member individually over Zoom. I talked to them about what they do at the company and also about their own lives. Everybody talked about their passions and their inspirations. They all explained their roles at the company and their goal to support young people. It was exciting meeting people and learning more about British culture through these interviews.

As I type this, I am still in the process of finishing the project for the last week of my internship. Once I finish editing these interviews and create multiple videos, I will present my finished product and get ready to share them on the 4-22 Foundation website and social media.
